Winter steelhead
Absolutely awful fishing report.
Cold rain, sleet, snow, heavy hail, lightening, high water,
deep snow and slush, ice, and high winds.
The fishing otherwise has been decent and it sure hasn’t been that
crowded. I had to cancel a ton of
trips dueNow the roads are better but the rivers
are in rough shape. Hopefully
after the next week or so the worst of our winter weather will be over. Here is Jim, up from California somehow
smiling despite being absolutely dumped on by every kind of foul weather ever
devised. Mike …

December steelhead
This slightly dusky hatchery steelhead of Chad’s is from just before the first storm. It was one of five or six we intended to catch that day but it turns out the other fish never even bit. This is shocking because the next day my client Jim managed to hook 2, and no offence Jim, but this guy can fish circles around you. I guess that it just goes to show that there is more to …

Its really cold
First the rivers got a little too high, and then they

trips this week due to sanity. Despite all this …

Have heard pretty decent reports from all over. We have this blizzard on the way that
should bring the Hoh down into great shape.yes”> I think if it stays in shape that should give us a weeks
worth of good fishing.read more »

twice a week, with fresh and interesting photos. I like posting fishing reports, but I often get lazy/busy/ preoccupied and drop the ball. So…to keep myself motivated and to add
some drama to the site I am starting a pool.read more »
High water means days off
I have been being a bit lame this last month about supplying interesting and
informative reports about peninsula fishing. I have been fishing every single
day for more than a month and frankly have not made the time to keep you, the
Internet surfing public, informed.
So, to get you up to speed, for the
last month the water was super low, which means the salmon came in and stayed
low in the system, ganged up in huge schools in the lower rivers, and after a
couple of weeks decided the really didn’t want to bite a lot. This …

Not a photographer
So…
I’ve been fishing every freakin’ day. The fly fishing has
definitely gotten tougher as the fish have started coming in closer to the
spawn. Still plenty of chromers, and big ones, just not many fly biters…
