Fishing, a glimmer of winter

As a fishing guide, I am not a fan of the fishing part, I really prefer the catching.  Recently I have been relying on a group of upriver summer steelhead to supplement the less than stellar coho returns and provide enough catching to keep the day feeling productive.  As of yesterday a seal began relying on those summer fish  BUT  HO!  A few winter steelhead showed up this week, thank goodness, we can catch those, so I have been splitting my days between coho and winter runs, and the coho, though sparse, are still large and chrome.

Andi and her dad Eric came out this week, we did a little gear fishing for salmon and a little fly fishing for steelhead, both worked out ok.
