    John waits one out

Catching steelhead, not catching them swinging, mostly. Liking the low water but looking
forward to some rain. Things are a
bit crowded, mostly by spey fishermen, especially on the lower rivers.

I have a day off coming up on Monday, maybe I will post a
    better report.

    20 fish days

Quick report is about all I have time for so here goes.

I had really tough swing fishing the last few days, hooked a
couple fish landed none. There are
decent numbers of fish in the lower rivers but HUGE crowds this weekend made
    things tough. Hopefully the crowds
will thin out here and we will have a little water to ourselves. There are definitely some bruiser
steelhead around, if you want to get them right now you have to have a lot of patience
    or a nymph rod.

There are steelhead in the lower ends of
    everything.

I had Eric R. and Mark H out for a couple of days, the
fishing wasn’t hot but the company was great, thanks for everything guys.

    Low Water but good fishing

The water is really low and clear and the weather is bright
and beautiful and we still seem to manage to land a couple of nice steelhead a
    day. Fish are moving cautiously
into the lower ends of all the rivers and not much farther. Towards the end of last week and
through the weekend it seemed like about fifty fifty mix of hatchery versus
native fish but I think we weeded the last batch of hatchery fish out now and
its mostly native steelhead in the 9 to 14 pound class. The pressure is mostly …
