Taking it on the road.
Ryan and I are headed to the Klickitat for two weeks starting October 10th.
We have openings on October 11th, 16th 17th 23rd and 24th. Should be good fishing and we can help you with lodging and details. If you want a little change of pace drop us a line.
Here on the OP trout fishing has been good. All dry fly fishing, mellow, the kind of fishing where its slow for a bit, then OK, then slow, then good, then OK, then by around 2 you realize you have caught a lot of really nice trout on dries.
Salmon and steelhead fishing has been hit or miss. When the water’s right, its been super solid, otherwise its tough. Either way the weather and water have been ridiculously beautifully awesome.
The percentage of native summer steelhead we have encountered this year is a little remarkable.
Trout are coming on strong, and the jacks will eat dries in between trout. I would love to get in a couple of dry fly trips for sea runs this fall. Give us a call if you think you can get out.
Shot a little video on my phone of a steelhead eating a dry, spitting it, then turning around and eating it again after the fly had picked up a leaf. The fish ate the fly and the leaf but still didn’t get hooked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjn1eo6rVrY
