Not fall yet
The sporting magazines showing up at the house all say stuff about fall fishing and hunting. Screw them, its August, the dog days, the heart of summer, and I’m not giving it up.
The summer steelhead never really got ripping this year, but they have reached a nice hum. They are a bit bigger than usual, and most are still as chrome as can be. The summer salmon fishing has been taking up most of my time. Coho primarily, and some Sockeye. When you trip their trigger they really take off after the fly, and they are super high quality fish.
The trout have, for the most part, gone to bed. They will be back in September, but for now they are mostly in hiding.
I have August 8,9,10,12,13, and 16,17 open. The fishing is good, don’t worry about getting a room, the camping weather is perfect. Take a couple days if you can, we have been swinging with tips down south, locally we are dry lining summer steelhead and stripping coho, plus there is tide water fishing, and hell, if you want, beach fishing for rock fish. More than enough to keep you busy.
The fishing down south is about 5 days from getting into gear, but whats the hurry. Things are fine around here.
