Most seasons you would have to travel thousands of miles to get steelhead fishing conditions like this!  What a treat! What a rare fucking OPPORTUNITY!

Ouch, got that out of my system.  Look, no one said this is easy sometimes it gets a little harder than I would like.  But there is only one solution.  You just tough it out, fish the water you have to fish, and catch what there is to catch.  In short, when the going gets tough, the tough fish harder.  You can quote me on that.  Luckily it seems like things are warming up.  Weather man is talking about getting back into the 40’s today.

You would not believe how long it took this sock monkey to catch this steelhead

You would not believe how long it took me and this sock monkey to find this steelhead

The fish numbers remain unseasonably low, but seem to be picking up.  Warmer weather, unfrozen fly lines and fingers that can feel should make a big difference.
