Good conditions, big steelhead

Well I fished with Chris yesterday, the lower Sol Duc was in
awesome shape, maybe a tiny bit high but the color was perfect, I know there
are a fair number of big fresh steelhead in there but we only managed to hook
one freshie and 3 leftover hatchery fish.
Now I am not complaining about hooking four steelhead by any means but
you know, its time to see a giant chromer on the hook.

Its true, Clark has the moves.

Anyway other folks have been catching some hogs, a few in
the Sol Duc, a few in the Bogachiel, a few in the Hoh.  As always this time of year there have
been some stupendously big steelhead but not really tons of fish anywhere.  Its also colder here then it was in
Mexico.

The water is in great shape for the swung fly, and its
certainly not very busy.  A nice
time of year to walk around with a spey rod and hope for the best.
