Trout. Sharpen your trout rod

About the 15th of September to the end of October the dry fly fishing enters a realm of perfection

OK, thats not a thing. But trout fishing on the Olympic Peninsula is a thing.  And the very best part of it is just weeks away.

Around the 2nd week of September expect the trout fishing to begin to really heat up.  Good dry fly action and mixed bag days with trout plus shots at kings, coho, and steelhead.

Sea run cutthroat will begin to roll in from the salt and big October Caddis will begin to hatch in the afternoons, leading to exactly the sort of thing your interested in if you have already read this far into a fly fishing blog.

Jacks commonly crash the party on trout trips

Really, the best part of summer is when the camp grounds clear out, the kids head back to school, and the evenings cool off.

DON’T miss out.  Its just a few weeks, and although winter steelhead fishing is fun, its not summer.
