And it makes me want to hurry.  Hurry through all my chores and jobs and to do lists but, really, as evidenced by the big fall chinook that have rolled in in the last couple of days, times up.

I am going to have to put some things aside, or I won’t get a day to myself on the river at all.

Its my favorite time of year, this years crop of fall caddis are as fat and numerous as I have seen them in a decade, any moment now they will start to pop.  The sleepy trout and bored steelhead will go on the hunt.

About the 15th of September to the end of October the dry fly fishing enters a realm of perfection

The summer coho have kept rolling in, and a run that started sporadicly is begun to grow to impressive size.

The days are perfect, the rivers remain cool, and the cooler days are now dropping the temps even more.

September steelhead love dry flies

There is so much going on, and it seems like we are at the moment just before it all begins.

Fall Coho, fall trout, the caddis, the summer steelhead, holy shit….ELK, I almost forgot.

summers last gasp!

I may have to quit my job.
